What services do Winslet & Walker offer?
We provide a full suite of jewellery services, including bespoke jewellery design, repair and restoration, polishing and cleaning, fine jewellery for sale, and we can purchase jewellery.
How does your bespoke jewellery process work?
Every bespoke creation begins with a consultation online or in person. During this consultation we will explore your inspiration, preferred materials, and budget. We will then create sketches or 3D renders for your approval. Once the design is finalised, our Goldsmiths handcraft your piece with meticulous attention to detail.
For more information please visit our bespoke jewellery service page.
How long does it take to create a bespoke piece?
Most bespoke commissions are completed within 3–8 weeks, depending on the complexity, material sourcing, and design amendments. We will always keep you updated throughout the process.
Can you use my own gemstones or remodel old jewellery?
Absolutely. We often work with heirloom stones or sentimental pieces to create something entirely new. We will inspect your items first to ensure they are suitable for re-setting or remodelling.
What types of jewellery repairs do you offer?
Our workshop handles everything from simple fixes to full restorations, including:
- Ring resizing
- Stone setting and replacement
- Chain, clasp, and bracelet repairs
- Re-stringing of pearls and other beaded jewellery
- Re-tipping and securing claws
- Cleaning, polishing, and rhodium plating
- Restoration of vintage and antique jewellery
For a full list please visit our repairs page.
How long do repairs usually take?
Standard repairs take 3–10 days, while complex restorations may require additional time. We will always provide an estimated timeframe before beginning any work.
Do you buy jewellery?
Yes. We purchase gold, silver, platinum, palladium, gemstones, and pre-owned jewellery. If you’re unsure about an item, we’re happy to examine it and advise.
For more information please visit our jewellery purchasing page.
How does the jewellery buying process work?
We begin with an assessment, either from photographs or an in-person appointment. Items are evaluated based on metal purity, gemstone quality, condition, and market value. We then present a fair and transparent offer. If accepted and the items are correctly represented after any further testing, payment is made promptly.
Do you sell jewellery online?
Yes. Our online shop features a curated collection of New, Vintage, and Antique jewellery, each piece has been photographed and described in detail to help you shop with confidence.
Can I have a piece adjusted after purchase?
In most cases, yes. We offer ring resizing and small adjustments where possible. If you require alterations, please contact us before or after purchase and we’ll be happy to advise.
Do you provide warranties or guarantees?
All bespoke creations are covered by a Winslet & Walker craftsmanship guarantee. Repair work is guaranteed for 1 year. If you have any issues with an item you have purchased, please contact us and we will do our best to help resolve any issues.
